PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE TO STAFF

Principal Robert Jeffers

Welcome, teachers! At Central High/Tri-C CDS, we are committed to providing a safe, positive, and challenging learning environment that empowers students to become creative problem solvers, critical thinkers, and inspired learners who are college bound and career ready.

As Principal, I fully support setting high expectations for academic achievement, high standards for positive behavior, and consistent school attendance at all of our sites. Academic success is gained through sustained personal commitment and effort, and everyone - teachers, parents, counselors, staff, and administrators - plays a critical role in supporting this effort. I invite you to join us on our collective journey toward student success, and help Central High School and Tri-C students learn that hard work ultimately pays off.

SUICIDE PREVENTION INFORMATION

Suicide prevention
Suicide is a serious public health problem that takes an enormous toll on families, friends, classmates, co-workers, and communities.

Suicide prevention is the collective effort of local community organizations, mental health practitioners and related professionals to reduce the incidence of suicide through education, awareness, and services. Review the Suicide Prevention Awareness for Staff brochure for more information (provided by LAUSD's Student Health and Human Services).

FOCUS ON LEARNING: 2021-2022 WASC REPORT

Accreditation certifies — to other educational institutions and to the general public — that a school meets or exceeds established standards and is achieving its own stated objectives.

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges ("WASC")  grant “institutional accreditation” after a comprehensive self-study followed by an on-site evaluation of the school's programs and services. This means that all diploma or degree programs and educational activities offered by a school are covered by the institution’s accreditation. The evaluation determines whether or not the school qualifies for regional recognition, but more importantly, periodic self-studies and reviews promote improvement in educational quality.

In 2022, Central High/Tri-C was granted a six-year accreditation from WASC. Be sure to review the WASC Self-Study Report. The WASC Mid-Term report will be completed during the 2024-2025 school year.

INDIVIDUALIZED GRADUATION PLAN

When a student enrolls at Central High Tri-C CDS, our school counselor works with the student and parent to develop an Individualized Graduation Plan (IGP). The plan outlines the courses needed to complete all LAUSD requirements and earn a diploma. Our current IGP and AB 216 IGP are available within the Staff Resources section on this page.

CENTRAL HIGH AND TRI-C BELL SCHEDULES

All Central High School and Tri-C sites have bell schedules which are aligned with state and district instructional requirements. These schedules are consistent from site to site within each school; Central High School has a total of 240 minutes of instructional time each day, and Tri-C has a total of 360 instructional minutes. Be sure to review the official Central High and Tri-C Bell Schedules.
